It's a million dollar question for almost all CAT aspirants "how to choose a proper B-school". The magazines and newspapers come up with exhaustive promotional ads and ratings for the B-schools all over the India. So in this scenario it really become difficult for an aspirant to decide which B-school to go for. Moreover at first glance all the B-schools seem to be fulfilling all the coditions that an excellent B-school should provide. But one comes to know the actual scenario only when he enters within the circumference of that B-school. So best way of extracing information about a particular B-school is by directly interacting wih the students of that B-school. This gives you the exact information regarding all the ins and outs of the institute. But apart from this the judging parameters which has to be taken into account are:

-pedagogy and strength of the course- Along with the strength of the course the teaching pattern is also equally important. Introducing each and every subject with a case study helps the students with a better understanding of handling real life situations while they become managers.

-infrastructure-The infrastructure includes not just the lecture theatres, auditoriums, or other such entities, but also the availability of adequate resources for effective and quick learning to take place.

-faculty- The determination of faculty has to be made not only in terms of academic excellence but also the researches carried out, the paper published, the projects undertaken and also the practical knowledge regarding industries. All these together enhances better learning.

-industry interfaceThe interface that the B-school has, in terms of quality of the companies visiting the campus, the quality of projects, guest lectures, visiting faculty etc gives a clear picture of the kind of rapport the institute has built up for itself in the industry. This strong linkage as well as rapport is developed and maintained by both the Training and Placement Departments, along with the active participation of the students.

-placements- Above all lucrative placement is the key factor that all the aspirants look for before selecting a B-school.So a student should try to find out the number of companies visiting the campus, the quality of companies, no of students being placed.

-Global affiliations and accreditions- AICTE approval should be given the first preference while selecting a B-school.

Strategy which i followed to get into one of the TOP BSCHOOL IN INDIA i.e IILM GSM(Graduate School of Management).

Revisiting concepts, question selection, time management and staying cool are key strategies to bell the CAT.

Within the coming few days span, nearly three lakhs students will take the Common Admission Test (CAT) that determines admission to top-notch B-schools, including the coveted Indian Institutes of Management.

This year’s CAT will be held on November 16. By now, candidates should have finished a fair amount of their preparation.“Students would have worked out their fundamental problems and written several mock tests by this time. But it is important to revisit the concepts learnt initially to refresh one’s memory.

Candidates should also be careful not to get too much stressed out while thinking about scores in tests.They should make an objective, dispassionate judgement about their performance and stay cool.

STRATEGIES
Since CAT is round the corner so these are the few strategies which are common but still should be kept in mind to crack CAT with good percentile. Though CAT comes with different appearance every year and you can never know what will it have to offer you this year but the strategies almost remain the same for cracking CAT. Overall patience and practice are the keywords behind every strategies.

1)When very few days are left, its better to revise all those area in which an individual is comfortable. No need to touch any new area for experiment.

2)Prioritization and selection of questions in the mock test also plays an important role in the candidate’s performance and make comfortable during the entrance.`

3)Check the areas of strength while mock test, and try first to attempt them while taking CAT.

4)Stay cool while analyzing the question.

5)Don't be in a hurry to attempt all question.

6)Try to use short cut techniques in all sections i.e in paragraph reading , first read questions and then start reading paragraph.

7) Don't get over excited after seeing the questions. In doing so u may miss out same important lines or informations. Reading the question carefully is extremely essential.

8) Manage time in each sections. This time management skill is required very much for each and every entrance not only CAT.
